Tailored Academic Programs

We offer two programs specifically designed to assist veterans in completing their BSN. These provide mentoring from application to graduation, shorten the time to degree completion, and provide additional flexibility. Stipends are available for those who qualify.

  • Co-enrollment BSN Program (Veteran): allows military veterans to complete all Mason BSN nursing courses online while concurrently enrolled in their AAS nursing courses at a partner community college.
  • LPN to BSN Program (Veteran): a full-time program that allows military veteran LPNs to pursue a BSN and earn their RN license in 12 months following completion of prerequisites.

Veterans Affairs Internship and Career Opportunities

George Mason University holds a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Under this agreement, the VA works closely with Mason, through the College of Health and Human Services, to recruit students for internships and career opportunities. This in turn helps promote diversity and eliminate potential barriers to diverse representation within the VA’s workforce. Read more about the MOU here
