Biography

Dr. Chang taught as a nursing instructor for all core courses in the nursing curriculum in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. In Puerto Rico, translated the pediatric section of the NCLEX license exam into Spanish. Certified as a nurse executive by the ANA since 1992, and an Item Writer for the certification examination. In 1998 she was funded to develop an Interactive Computerized Instructional Module “Vitals Sign” for the Fundamentals nursing course. From 2006 to 2009, was involved with the Workforce Diversity Program for mentoring disadvantaged students in nursing. Was employed at St Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital in New York, held various positions from staff nurse to nursing administration as the System Coordinator.  Was a clinical reviewer for the Elsevier Clinical Skills book. In 2015 she coauthored a qualitative study Assessing QSEN Patient Centered Care through Student Journaling.
